Vintage Gilner Pixieware Elf

This mischievous little pixie is ready to charm his way into your heart - just look at those sweet dimples.   He makes me wonder what he's been up to besides exercising!

Manufactured by the Gilner Pottery Company, Culver City California, he was part of the Pixieware line of male elves called "Happy People".  (Female elves were from the "Merry Maid" line).  Beryl Gilner took advantage of the "craze" for pixies and produced this line from 1942 until 1958 when the plant burnt down.

This mid century fellow is in outstanding condition without chips, cracks or repairs, and sits 2 5/8" tall by 3 1/4 wide. The carefully painted features on his unglazed face remain bright and vivid.

Asking - $18

Wood & Sons Ivory Ware Rose Table Ware

Ivorine China, or Ivory Ware, is a semi-porcelain body commonly called ironstone, and although the fired body looks vitreous or glass-like it is a refined earthenware and not true porcelain.  Ironstone china was patented in 1813 by Charles Mason as a  cheaper and more durable alternative to porcelain that could be mass produced.  Wood & Sons began producing the Ivory Ware line in the 1930's and it was one of their two most popular lines along with Beryl Ware which had a green colored body.

This vintage Wood and Sons Ivory Ware Rose cream pitcher and covered sugar dish was manufactured during the 30's to 40's.  It features a lovely brushed gold gadroon edge that has seen little wear.  This romantic and shabby chic set is free from cracks, chips, stains, or hazing.

Asking - $25 set

In the same pattern is a set of  low soup bowls  7  7/8" and side/bread plates 6" that are also chip, stain, and crack free.  One of the bowls has a slight bit of hazing consistent with age.  Sold as a 4 piece set.

Asking - $30

Finally, we have a pair of matching cups with saucers which are chip, crack, stain, and haze free.

Asking - $20
