Lefton Mid-Century " Americanna Rose" Cream And Sugar Set

This could quite possibly be the ultimate in shabby-chic!  Here we have a gorgeous mid-century creamer and sugar dish with lid in the Americanna Rose pattern by Lefton, featuring an embossed rose on one side and a rosebud on the other.  The handle for the lid on the sugar dish is a lovely rosebud.  This was an extensive line during the 50's and 60's with many different pieces.

This set is in great vintage condition with a couple of small fleabites and no cracks or repairs.  The hand-painted design is still bright and vibrant and these pieces show little wear.   there is some hazing consistent with age that, in my opinion, only adds to the beauty of these timeless pieces.  Sold as set.  Truly a fine addition to your romantic décor!

Asking - $28

Vintage Lefton Grapes

Most of these pieces are from a line of kitchen/dining ware produced by Lefton  simply referred to as "Grapes".  The first pieces of Lefton china made in occupied Japan reached the shores of North America  in 1947.  Lefton was known for their fine quality of goods made in Japan where they continued to be produced up until the 70's after which production was moved to Taiwan and Malaysia.  The quality has remained high and production under the Lefton label continues today.

Lefton's Shabby Chic Rose Candle Holders

Lefton China was founded in 1940-41 Chicago by George Zoltan Lefton, formerly from Hungary.  Although he had no professional experience with porcelain or china prior to moving to the United States he was a passionate collector and Lefton's became known for it's wide variety of delicate china items.  In 1945 Lefton traveled to Japan where he made an agreement allowing him to produce the first Lefton china products, originally marked "Made in Occupied Japan".

This lovely set of vintage shabby chic rose finger hold candle holders in a delicate pink are chip and crack free, but have some hazing consistent with age.  They are approximately 4" wide.

Asking - $25

Lefton Dutch Girl Teapot

I believe this is the piece that started me on my mission to rescue lost lovelies.  I spied it one day at the local indoor fleamarket, dirty, unwanted, and largely unseen and it had made me think fondly of a good friend of mine.  There was nothing remarkable about it and I almost passed it by.  I'm not a tea maker nor a teapot collector and wasn't looking for a teapot that day!  The vendor, who looked tired and ready to pack it in for the day, saw me looking at it and offered it to me for a very good price so home it went with me.  I cleaned it up tenderly and the rest is history.

I love a good yard sale or church bazar, fleamarkets and second-hand stores, markets and such!  I don't usually buy much but I love to look.  In my forays I noticed a lot of pretty things that no longer seemed to hold purpose and that would probably end up unloved in a trash heap as broken and forgotten pieces of history.  I feel these pieces each tell a story.  They were once cherished by their owners or found to be useful and still could be loved and used.  I enjoy finding these lost treasures and researching them...sometimes it's a bit like chasing a rabbit down the hole to find info on them, but it's a lot of fun for me.  I've also realized that I can't keep every lovelie I find and so I offer them up to you!

This vintage mid century made in Japan Lefton Dutch Girl Teapot is a rare find and is in remarkable condition with no chips, cracks, or hazing.  There are a couple of glaze flaws made during manufacturing, one in the paint on the back at the bottom behind the handle, and what looks like an air bubble in the glaze on the back lid between her apron.

This is a wonderful acquisition for any collector.

Asking price - $90
