Royal Copley Bird Trinket Dish

This is a Royal Copley Bird Trinket Dish that I found on one of my recent antiquing forays.

Royal Copley is the name of one line of merchandise which was created by the Spaulding China Company (Sebring, Ohio) in operation from 1942 to 1947.  This was a relatively short time in comparison with many other potteries.  The name Royal Copley has come to represent not only the company and all its wares, but also an entire class of art pottery.

This beautiful piece of pottery features a sweet little bird perched on the edge of a lotus flower.  It measures approximately 4  5/8" plus the bird in diameter and has no cracks or chips.  A wonderful example of 1940's/50's decor and would be a fabulous addition to any collection.

Asking price - $15
